This 2022 self-portrait titled, “My Favourite Winter Hat”, reminds me of that winter day when I was feeling especially happy and smiled for the camera. The hat was white when it was new. Today, it is worn from numerous washings to rid the wool of the smell of the horse barn that I visit weekly. Everyone hates the smell, but I love it. When I wear this hat, I feel like myself.
